Integrated Access Service is a bundled business service solution that combines local
access services such as Business Trunks (PBX Trunks), DID and POTS, Dedicated Internet Access Service (DIA),
Frame Relay Service for Data Networking and DataComm CPE onto a single channelized Interstate T1 transport.
The product can be customized to fit each customer's specific needs from a menu of services that are
available for the customer to choose from. The customer must choose a minimum of eight (8) local access
services per arrangement.
Transporting these services over a single T1 provides the services at a lower cost to the customer
than they would realize by purchasing the components separately. Overall savings to the Telco are also
realized since there are fewer facilities to install and a reduced number of outside facilities to maintain.
Integrated Access Service is provided as a point-to-point circuit from the customer premises to a Digital Cross Connect (DCS)
equipped serving central office. This office may or may not be the customer's serving wire center. If it is
the customer's local services are internally cross connected to the customer assigned channels of the T1.
The affiliate services, Frame Relay Service and/or DIA service are cross connected via Cross Connect orders to the
customer assigned channels of the T1.
